Outdoor Fun For Seniors and the Physically Challenged
PO Box 186
Holmen, WI 54636
What: An all-abilities accessible park located at the Holmen Remington Hills Park. The park will be for all children, but designed especially for those who are physically challenged.
Why: The overwhelming response that n.a.s.a.’s Inclusive Park at Butts Park in Tomah has shown that there is a need in the Holmen/Onalaska area. There are currently less than 10 accessible playgrounds in the state of Wisconsin.
Where: The park is located in the Remington Hills Park in Holmen, WI. This location was chosen for its level terrain, adequate parking, existing infrastructure, and location within the village.
This special playground equipment was designed for physically challenged children with a unique surface that allows for wheelchair access. This surface also provides cushioning in the event of a fall. Approximately half of the cost of the playground went into the poured surface to make it safe for all to enjoy.
